This is one of my favorite pieces, I’m really proud of it. It was the first oil pastel portrait I ever attempted and I was trying to achieve something fun and bubbly. However, that’s not a reflection of how I see the world and it felt really forced. I used a mix of oil and acrylic paints to achieve a bright contrast of colors and textures. Her eyes are distant, consumed by thoughts. This is my portrayal of disassociation based on the beautiful Italian model @gio.scotti.
